Guess I had the wrong idea, thought you meant placing it over the head unit.

I posted some pics and info on the toucoul mount here

It works great but i did have to get one replaced under warranty because it would no longer hold the weight of the ipad. When I emailed them they said it was likely defective and were very good about sending me a replacement. So far no issues with the new one.

Edit: My bad - did not notice you were looking for a front seat mount.

I've ordered those per the link below.

They are Active mounts that charge the iPads and also link up with IR Headphones.

Plus they are slidein, slideout.

Originally we had Headrest DVD players on order. Have now changed to these.

I looked and compared mounts extensively a couple years ago. I ended up with one of the ones you reference and the corresponding RAM iPad mount for my 06 Dodge and then moved it to the WK2. It works great, fits in nicely, with just a little wobble due to the long spring arm (less than the RAM as the WK2 has a softer ride). Good quality. I'll take some photos tonight if you want.

The mount is sturdy, unlike most if not all the other mounts on the market. It also is adjustable; mostly by bending the arm to the shape you want (its designed that way). It bolts nicely to the seat rail and does not interfere with passengers. It blends in nicely.

If you ever want to remove it, temporarily or permanently, it’s a one bolt operation with no evidence left. I ran a power cable up from the center console.

These photos shows the way I mounted the iPad. I had all the parts laying around. It may or may not work for you, but the iPad is handy for watching traffic, and there is no marring of the dash. A five minute exercise to remove/replace the seat rail bolt should I want to pull it from the Jeep or replace it.

RAM-316-1-202U RAM Mount Vehicle Floor Mount with Round Plate 1.5 inch Ball (longer 30 inch model)

RAM-B-138-AP8U Apple iPad 3G WiFi Swivel RAM Mount.

Got them from GPS city, at the time there was no complete kit long enough. So there were extra parts, but it was less money at the time to buy it this way.

By the way, there is a lifetime RAM warranty. The iPad mount cracked at one point and RAM sent me a new one, free.

I would expect so. Can only tell you for certain as car and mounts are due for delivery in 2-3 weeks.

The mounts are secured to the headrest posts and they have some extension out from the headrest so hopefully they should be OK for the Jeep.

Re: i-pad mounts

Ram products typically mount to an existing bolt - it looks like the case here as well.

No drilling anywhere. Remove the round plastic trim cover over the bolt that holds the seat rail to the floor (snaps out). Remove the bolt and then use it to fasten the RAM leg to the floor/rail. On the WK2 there is a bit of interference from the plastic seat rail trim, but I just tightened down the bolt solid without crushing the trim.

There will be a 1/2 in or so wobble when driving over sharp bumps, due to the spring in the long leg, but it is not distracting. Some have used Velcro or tie wrap between the upper part of the leg and something solid to reduce the sway.

You will also be missing the small trim piece.
