316.00$

Just got my Bilstein struts and shocks in, hell I don't know how to put them on so i went to a shop here in town and asked for a quote. To put on what I have already bought, they want 316.00! What! I paid that much for the bastards! What do you guys think, to much? Should I keep shopping or is this the norm for install? This shop is also well known and alot of people say their good, its not rocket science but I want it done right.

Thanks
Van

Average price is $75 per shock. That's $225.

But, most people charge a little more for struts because they are DANGEROUS. LOL.

go get a chiltans manual and do it yourself. It'll save you like 300 bones.

Careful with those struts. Lol.

you could probably slip the shop guy $20 to move the spring from the struts, but you have to take them off the Jeep.

The rears take like 30 min to do for both. Do the rears yourself and save some money. Have someone else do the fronts because that quote is way too high

Shocks are pretty straight forward as I found out afterwords lol I got all mine done for like 150 or something around that.

This is what I did. The rears are real easy. About a day or two before you do it, spray a bunch of PB blaster on the bolts and you will be good to go.

Does the $316 include front allignment? because you'll need that. If so, then maybe. The rears are cake. The struts aren't bad, if you have the equipment. The shop is probably lifted that you didn't buy the shocks from them.

I agree with others. The rears are quite simple. The front struts are a PITA. I tried to do one myself with a spring compressor. I was way out of my league. Maybe if I had two people? Even the shop I brought it too quoted me an 1.5 hours of labor for the fronts. Took them 3 hours to get it done.

Find a different shop dude, so many shops are available in my area that are craving for business, be competitive and get a good deal.

2for3... when did you turn into a good looking female?
