Condensation on inside of Windshield

Has anyone been experiencing excessive condensation INSIDE their windshield? The past couple of mornings and nights, when I get in the Jeep, the windshield is covered in condensation. The HVAC was not used prior to shut down and I did not use remote start. The anti-freeze level seems stable so I donít think I have a hose leaking behind the dash. Itís a real annoying mystery. The moisture is so thick I cannot drive for a couple of minutes after start up. Itís gotten to the point where I hang a hair dryer from the sun visor before I am ready to leave for work in the morning. Any ideas?

I had some this morning. I wouldn't say it was excessive. I also had A LOT condensation outside and initially thought it was inside (laugh all you want :D ).

I have had this as well, but it has been raining and with getting in and out of the Jeep, it can get the floor mats wet. So I figured it was due to the moisture in the vehicle. I've seen this happen in the winter time with my other vehicles.

Maybe a water leak somewhere?

There's been several threads in the past from people with water leaks, sometimes in places not easily noticed. Probably just do a search for "water AND leaking" or something.

I think there's even a TSB for a water leak problem due to the sunroof drain tubes becoming clogged and causing water to trickle into the A-pillar somewhere.

Thanks for the tip. I don't have the sunroof so I can cross that off the list. After having problems with the sunroof in my '04 GC I opted not to to pay extra for a hole in the roof on my '11.

If you want an easy fix Rain-X makes an anti fog product than can be used on the inside of windshields... might be worth checking out.

Thanks 604. I am a huge proponent of Rain-X. However my past experience with the anti-fog was less than stellar. That was many years ago. Maybe I will give it another shot.

Bob.

Just hope it's not the heater core, or you'll have to remove the whole dash!

Check the passenger floorboard to see if your carpet it damp from coolant.

The coolant level seems stable so I am hoping it is not the core. I know it only takes a small amount of liquid to make a lot of steam (fog).
