Thanks

Chris

Re: DashHawk screen going bad

I have both the dashhawk and the ultraguage. I've tried them both on my 3.0L CRD equipped WK. I had the dashhawk first and bought it to view information specific to my vehicle (turbo boost, transmission temp, air intake temp, ambient air temp, DPF temp), it met most of my requirements, but it didn't do the engine oil temp or realtime fuel economy for me.
I bought the ultraguage hoping it would do all my dashhawk does plus anything the dashhawk was missing. For the price, its a good deal, but doesn't do even half the things I get from my dashhawk. Also, its hard to flip screens cause the tiny button is at the back and screen update/refresh actually blink so its a bit distracting. I put the ultraguauge in my car and leave it on one screen. The display itself is sharper and larger than the dashhawk.
Would I buy it again? Sure for $50 it is worth it. Can it replace my dashhawk? No, it cannot do the same information I get from my dashhawk, but you may get the info you want from it.

Re: DashHawk screen going bad

Thanks for the reply and review on the two gauges. So if works on a 08 WK 3.0 it should work on my 05 WK. I may order one give a whirl I do like the brighter screen, I think dashawk stop making them and stop updating them, I guess they know the screen go bad so they stopped making them and do not care about customers. But thanks for the review.

yeah, depends on what you currently view on your dashhawk. frankly, i would only assume you will get the basic functions, but as I said for $50 its well worth it, plus it can clear codes and that is handy to have by itself.

when my dashhawk dies, I will likely get a dashdaq.

Chris, what are you going to do with the DashHawk? What, exactly, is it doing? I'd like to pick up a few defective ones and see if I can make a good one out of several bad ones.

Suzieque, thanks for the review of the Ultragauge. I too was looking at them as a replacement when my DashHawk dies. Don't they have a little better model (~$75) that has more features? I was under the impression that the Dashdaq does not have multiple screens like the DH. Do you know whether that's true? Sometimes I could use a couple more than the DH offers.

I see on the http://www.ultra-gauge.com/ultragauge/index.htm website they have a new Ultraguage EM model, I have the older version so my posts in this thread are based on the older Ultraguage, I don't have any experience with the Ultraguage EM.

Dashdaq looks very nice and a review by another 3.0L CRD owner said the Dashdaq provided more information than the dashhawk, that is why I would switch models.

Well I do not know, It is slowly turning black on the bottom of the screen. I can still see part of the screen.

The Em does a few more things from the classic. But some stuff may not work with my jeep. I looked at the dashdaq but to much money, Could get a tuner for alot cheaper.

I like my Aeroforce Interceptor scan gauges, they read pretty much anything the ecm will tell them. Heres a vid I made...

Chris, if/when it goes completely out, let me know. As I said above, I'd be interested in picking it up from you.
