Getting ready to lift!

I am trying to get everything gathered so I know what I want to order for my lift. I am going with the OME 2" HD lift, new rims, and General AT2's. Will what I am looking at work? I would like to keep from rubbing, I don't mind doing the pinch weld mod and that. I would like to keep my TPMS Sensors on my new rims also. So here is what I am looking at.

Should I go 17x8or9 rims? Does it matter?
Can I go with bigger Tires or would it look right with what I am going with?
Backspacing offset? What the hell do I need to know about that, because I don't know...
Please Give as much insight as you can. I have been looking over the forums for the past year and the few questions are the things I want to make sure on. Also I am staying away from spacers because of all the horror stories I have read.

your can't go wrong with the OME lift. Great choice. As for the tires I would NOT buy General AT's. IMO they are junk. I have had several friends buy them for their LR because they are cheap and they always wind up buying something else within a year. Buy a more quality tire in a 265/70/17. I always recommend the the BFG AT but they are expensive, so also check out the Nitto Terra Grapplers or the Firestone Destinations.

as for wheels check out the AEV Pintlers, XD addicts, Mamba Mr-1's and the list goes on and on.

Next time you shop for tires, check the survey. Don't know why Gerneral has a higher rating than BFG but then again, BFG rating is based on over 87 million which is over 7 times the miles reported for General.

Good luck on whatever you choose. You'll love the OME. I use to love the slight rocking back and forward motion from the coils when you come to a complete stop when mine was first installed.

You guys are crazy. I personally know 4 people who have AT2's and are very happy with them. I have over 15k on mine and they still look brand new. They perform great in most conditions (never went into deep mud though). For the money you can't go wrong.

Like with anything you will find people who like something and people who dislike that same thing. There is no doubt it is a good looking tire and priced to sell. However I have personally seen first hand Grabbers have their sidewalls rip open and their tread get chewed up with the first year of ownership. My friends all got them because they were cheap and they regretted their purchase. They all have BFG's or Nitto Grapplers now and haven't had a problem since. Therefore from my experience, I would not buy General Tires.

A friend of mine has 170,000 miles on his BFG KM1's Mud Terrains with all highways miles from the US and rough streets of Germany.

i will chime in a say that i rotate my km1's between ever 3000-5000 miles depending on how they wear...and i don't think i will even get 40k miles out of them, the tread is getting very low, its looking like im gonna be due for some new tires come next summer.

What? I think I have a little over 10,000 on mine and I barely see wear.

you'll see after a few thousand more miles the tread will start wearing a lot faster. i don't think i have much more than 20k on mine. don't get me wrong, these tires wear much better than most mt's out there i just dont see getting anywhere even close to 70k out of them. im at around 52k and i think i put them on around 30k. ill try to post a pic of where the tread is sometime this weekend if i remember.

Blacked out...where are you seeing tire wear? Outer half, inner half, the whole tire?
