Need Bumpstop Advice...

So I was being a dumb one night resulting in a slightly over extended OME suspension setup which resulted in rear end stuffing the tires into the inside fender wells. Upon unstuffing, the pinch weld was pulled out, door seal gone, and a damaged quarter panel...

Needless to say, my current setup is spacing the tires out quite far and there is too much travel. I'm currently running 265/70/17's, with 1.5" spacers and too much backspacing.

My thoughts are to reduce the spacer thickness to 1" or 1.25", or increase the bumpstop size to limit my problem.

What does the SuperLift use for bumpstops? What are my options?

And how it sits with the current spacing.

The SL uses a bump stop extension which I believe is 4". You could try extending yours 1" or 2" using a PVC coupler. That is what I did. Have you rolled your rear fender yet? I would do that first then see if the tires still touch.

I saw your writeup on the PVC extensions but that scares me. I rarely flex to a limit. But I'm scared all the time now even when it flexes a little.

The quarter needs a bodyshop and is going in before salt goes on the road... maybe I can get them to roll the fenders for me.

It is really not hard to do. An angle grinder or dremel works best, but you could even do it with a hack saw. Only 2-3 cuts are needed. Then just pound it in with a hammer. The pvc couplers are an easy and cheap fix as well. They are only like $.70 each! If you chopped them down to 1" or 1.5" you probably dont even need to remove the coil. Just let the axle drop to full extension and slide it in between the coils. You will need a longer bolt as well. The whole thing would cost less than $5.

I don't think you need wheel spacers with 265/70/17.

Wait, I know you don't need wheel spacers with those tires.

I know you hate wheel spacers.

I like the current aggressive look with this offset, I just don't like it not being able to articulate as much as it could...

I'm debating taking the spacers off and seeing what she's like, but I'm not fully sold.

I'd like to find some 1" spacers.

I run a 255 and I need spacers... I think it just depends on how agressive the shoulder of the tire is.

I think my tires are bigger and more aggressive than yours.
