Foul smell

Where's the coil located bc I was told that was the source of my problem of the smell when the heat and ac are on? And also do I have to make sure my battery is off to remove this coil.. I have no clue where it is

Re: Foul smell

I would more think it is your cabin air filter. Use a charcoal filter and I bet your problem dissappers.

I actually haven't done this in my jeep yet, so I just assumed it had one. I've done it on the rest of my cars and it's worked wonders. Here is what I could find on a quick search:http://www.wkjeeps.com/wk_cabinair.htm

wtf... I responded to this at work yesterday, seem it didnt get sent. Your problem is likely the evaperator, your hvac box is a breeding ground for bacteria, mold and mildew. If you shut your doors turn your hvac on (a/c switched on with the heat on full) and take a can of lysol something that kills bacteria and smells good, shut your doors with the vehicle running and spray the lysol into the cowl area at the passanger side bottom of the windshield (this is where the inlet is for your hvac, you should see if you can get a decent angle on it that the mist curves into the inlet as its being sucked in... used the majority of the can. I have done this on a caravan with decent success before. chrysler actually has a chemical for this but there was one customer that didnt want to pay for it and the writer offered to spray it in there for him (I just went ahead and did it while I had the van)... It made a pretty good dent in the smell for the like 3 bucks for a can.
