Heated seat switch lights
I recently replaced my heated switches and the lights were dim. I replaced the filament bulb with a LED and replaced the dim orange LEDs with red.

I cut two small circles of perfboard from Radio Shack, then epoxied them into the back of the seat switched where the filament bulb socket used to reside. I epoxied the green LED to the center of the perfboard and then soldered 220Ω resistors to each end and to the circuit board.

I really enjoy that I can see them in daylight now as well.

Looks great stephen! I have always wished those lights were brighter but never thought there was anything I could do about it.

Re: Heated seat switch lights
Thanks Aaron. I ordered the LEDs from ebay (about $6 for 20 of each color) and had the perfboard laying around. The orange LEDs that I changed to red are size 1206 and the green ones I used are size 1210. If you ever plan to do this remember to use two 220Ω resistors as it helps keep the 1210 (green) LED centered.

Re: Heated seat switch lights
I need to do the same thing. your the only person I have seen do this on both this forum and the jeepforum. Can you give me a step by step write up and what parts I need to buy? I know next to nothing about electronics so the more you can dumb it down the better. Thanks.

Great job, looks awesome! You just reminded me I need to add this to the ever-growing mod list.
