WJ Kuda Mount/iPhone integration

So, a member of this forum decided to upgrade to an SRT, so he sold his Mopar iPod integration kit to me. After it went in, well, I needed a place for my phone. Here's what I ended up doing. The part the phone docks to came from Proclipusa.com. Part #516042. That got mounted to the Kuda #99122. The Kuda is a fiberglass shell wrapped in real leather. It installs firmly with NO fasteners or tape of any kind. Really slick installation. I was able to run my iPod cable under the center stack, up the side and inside the hollow Kuda mount. Makes for a nice, neat install. I added the Scocshe Passport which goes between the phone mount and the iPod cable. This allows for my phone to charge while it's on the cradle. So now I can charge while listening to a few hundred songs I have on my phone.

Hope this helps someone else looking to be able to "dock" their phone instead of tossing it in the cupholder all the time.

Oh, by the way...that's and AUX jack I added. So if my wife wants to plug in her iPad or someone has an iPod they want to hook up, it's right there.

Nice install Tony! I like the extra aux plug, brilliant idea. I may have to consider doing this, I have a few long road trips coming up for work, it would be nice not to have to burn a bunch of cd's to put in the Jeep.

PS thanks for the reminder I havent posted pics of my eagle eye tails I bought from said member.

Thanks! And it never happened if there aren't pics...ehhhehe.

I was going to drill into the radio bezel to install the aux jack, but figured I'd do it on a less permanent part. I hate like hell to put holes in stuff if I can avoid it.

I know, I will get to it. I agree with that, its easy to make a hole but hard to cover it back up if you need to. Thats what I miss about the Sony unit i had in my ZJ, it had a built in aux jack in the front.

PS: parts came today, my Dad and I are tackling the rear control arm and ball joint Saturday, and a power steering hose on the wifey's car. I'm so ready to be done filling it with fluid all the time, there are actually stains in the street in front of our house from it!

I think I've used half a can so far, I'm gonna have to go replenish my pb blaster after this one!

I like Tony! Get a black Sharpie and paint that white cable black.Works pretty good. How hard is it to get the trim out of the dash and door panels ? I really like that carbon fiber look. Wonder if I could somehow cover up the wood on the steering wheel? Hmmmmmmm........

Thanks! That's the intention...eventually to either paint the connector black or find a black "extension" I could use instead of the white. Damn apple with all their white accessories. I need to fingernail that decal off the holster too.

The door trim and the trim above the glove box are pretty much a lost cause. The doors are plastic-welded on I think, and the dash piece requires some serious disassembly because it's bolted on. I was able to wrap these pieces while still on the vehicle pretty easily though. A little blow-dryer action and a plastic putty knife to tuck the access in around the back of the "wood". There are better pics of the job here:
