What is needed for a 5.7 swap on a 4.7?

So I have been doing some saving and I think the cheapest way to go is to do the 5.7 swamp on my 4.7, then do the 5.7 Stroker to a 392. So the question is what all do I need to successfully swamp the 5.7 into my whip?

Just buy a 392 Lol. But You need the engine, engine wiring harness, tuner, and a bunch of other stuff. Same transmission too so that's good.

well I figured the wiring harness and as far as the tuning goes I have StackPerformance that will be droping it in and giving it a custom tune so I'm still trying to figure out the other stuff. So I don't have to change the tranny???

4.7's share the same tranny as the 5.7's.

I see your direction. Jacob nice bro ...I'm thinking of doing a 4.7 or 5.7 myself you don't like the performance from the 4.7?

Just need more of a platform to.work on...frankly I'm tired on not having good mods for the 4.7 and everything under the sun for the 5.7 and 6.1 platform...pisses me off that jeep made it so hard for us to build off this engine. Just want to have the option to order parts from anywhere and not just one or two places.

Well the first thing you will have to look into is what kind of motor you are going to buy. Cuase just buying a stock block versus a completely build motor are two different things all together. If I was you I would purchase a used 5.7 or 6.1 from a totalled vehicle and then rebuild the motor from there.

This way you can do any modifications to the motor before the initial install. Such as a stroker kit, cam, pistons, NOS, F/I, exhaust, headers etc. This way your motor will be easily accesible to work on and you wont be digging in there once installed. Plus judging by your vehicle you wont be just dropping a stock 5.7 in you want some balls in there. Its a show car.

The very first ting you will have to look into will be the motor mounts, then the trans are the same for the 4.7 and 5.7 but I am sure if it is a direct bolt up. Secondly you will have to look into a new drive shaft, wiring, rear end, etc. These would be my first things to look into.

Now this is just from what I know from a few motor swaps I have been able to be apart of. Yet, I hav enever done this to my own vehicle so I don't know every little thing that went into it. I was just a cheap pair of knowledgable hands for beer lol...

This was my first hit on google, when I searched "5.7L Hemi crate engine"

Seems like they got some nice sh*t going on. I think the SRT8 motor was alittle over 7k

All you need is a donor vehicle! Find one that is totaled and remove/replace from there.

What are your end goals for your Jeep?
