Alarm arming itself...

For some reason everytime I turn off the car, whether or not the key is still in the ignition and I'm sitting in the car or if its removed and I'm outside the car, the alarm always seems to arm itself after a short amount of time.

I need to know what's wrong. I'll turn off the engine and be listening to the radio and then when I want to get up and going I turn the ignition and the alarm goes off:confused:

do you have auto locks turned on?

Check your door switchs, im currently having a problem where as i drive the vehicle will lock itself numerous times. i can also get out, leave the car unlocked for about half an hr, and go back out again and when i open the door it'll lock itself automatically.

I turned that option off but it still does this. I don't understand, I thought that was it

possibly a key fault... thats out there a bit though. Does your key lock and unlock all the time no problem?

Yes it unlocks and locks fine. I really don't understand what it is. I think it may be an after-market alarm system installed into the car by the owner before me.

Pull down the drivers side knee bolster, pull for the top right under your steering wheel shroud. It just pulls down, you'll easily be able to tell if there is an aftermarket alarm in the vehicle.

You can't always relay on an antenna on your windshield, alot of aftermarket alarms just have a length of wire as the antenna that gets ziped died under the dash.
