Tire Shopping

Where have you guys found the best price on tires? I am looking for AT tires, open to suggestions, but really like the BFG AT tire. I am doing my research because like others on here my WK2 was delivered with the excellent Michelin Tours .

I found that the local indies as well as my Jeep dealer would meet web prices. Most sell the stock tires on craigslist etc. I traded my stock tires in at independent all brand dealer who is owned by Chevy dealer.

I have always had good luck with Town Faire Tire. They will price match whatever I can find on the web. They had no interest in my brand new 17" Goodyear Fortera's though.

Thanks for the suggestiong I'll check those out. Discount tire seems to have good prices bonus being the free rotations. However, the guy didn't seem willing to sell me 275/65/18 BFG ATs or Duratracs because the computer has the size marked red? I've seen here on this forum that they fit with QL. Since I am not going to get anything for the tire I have I might beat on them to justify getting new ones. Then again it hasn't snowed yet and that could make my decision happen real quick.

I bought my Duratracs from discount tire here in Colorado. They fit just fine with no rubbing at all.

Re: Tire Shopping

I just purchased a set of Bridgestone DMV-1's for this winter and the best price I could find locally was at Costco (In Canada). Online, the best price I found wat at the TireRack.com, however, the shipping costs made this deal no so sweet, probably due to the distance covered plus importing fees. If I was in the US I would go with TireRack.com and they offer to deliver at a local mechanic shop of your choice (from a list of AAA receommended shops).

I have found tirerack.com to have the lowest price and some of the local stores will price match. My favorite tire is the Firestone Destination AT. Reasonably priced! I had a set on my 2007 WK and they did well off road and in the snow.
