Speaker Buzz and Vent Squeal
Hello All. I was wondering if anyone had some ideas about what is causing the noises coming from the passenger side of my 2007 Grand Cherokee. The temps have just started dipping into the 20's here in Wisconsin and under start up there is fairly heavy distortion and buzzing from the passenger side speakers. This goes away after about 5-10 minutes. Along with this there is a high pitched noise that seems to be coming from the passenger side vents. I toggled through all of the vent settings to try and isolate the noise but it remained constant. It then went away after 10 minutes or so only to return when the wheel is turned to the right while moving. When stationary there is no noise with the wheel turned to the right. There is no noise with the wheel turned left or when kept in the center position. If anyone else has had this issue or has an idea of what it could be I would appreciate hearing from you. Thanks in advance!
Re: Speaker Buzz and Vent Squeal
UPDATE - The noise from the vents was the blower fan. It's mounting broke so the fan was loose...depending on how it moved it would squeal from time to time. The dealer replaced the speaker however the distortion is still around when it's cold outside...my assumption is that there is a loose connection between the speaker and the amp. As a side note, my amp fried due to water leaking into the cabin...still trying to figure that one out.
