Hey guys just wondering how do i remove the shifter top. I am wanting to make a new one out of billet aluminum in my CAD/CAM next semester at my tech school on our 4 axis mill.

Re: shifter removal

okay I am feeling a little special...I have had a new SRT8 shifter for a week and can't figure out how to remove my stock one or even get the chrome ring off my new one. Any tips? Should I just jam a plastic trim tool inbetween the shifter and chrome bezel to separate like in the pic below? And I get to put in D for the one on my rig, but I can't even get a 90 degree trun out of it...thoughts? What am I doing worng?

Hold the shift knob in one hand and the chrome ring in the other. Give it a quarter turn and it will loosen enough to remove
