Trailer Question & 730N Question

Picked up a '12 Limited in True Blue yesterday with V6, trailer towing and 730N. Thanks to all the contributors in this forum, I've been stalking it for some time.

I was looking for help with 2 questions:

1. Is the 730N radio supposed to come with a cable to connect my phone?

2. Do vehicles equipped with the trailer towing package come with a hitch? Mine doesn't seem to be there but there seems to be a spot for it to be stored with the container that holds the jack, etc. in the middle of the spare tire.

Many thanks.

Re: Trailer Question & 730N Question

1. Use your phone's Bluetooth to connect to the 730N.

2. You have the hitch, but not the ball mount, ball and pin. All widely available from etrailer.com, UHaul and so on. Stainless hitch balls at stainlesshitchballs.com

Re: Trailer Question & 730N Question

First things first, Welcome!! Enjoy your new ride. I'm a recent new owner myself.

On the iPhone, Bluetooth and or USB in the center console or in the arm rest. I've tried the Bluetooth for iPad both generations, Motorola Xoom, Toshiba 7 & 10" tabs and a host of other Androids like my Thunderbolt phone. Everthing works extreamly well. For some unexplained reason I haven't tried anything with the use port on the radio itself.

Re: Trailer Question & 730N Question

Depending on what phone you have, such as the iPhone, go to amazon.com and order the cable. Don't buy any cable for more than $2. Should be ~$5 shipped. There are other sites to buy cables cheaper, but I'm loyal like that.
I bought a pair of "D" shackles and a tow strap through amazon, ARB I believe with a trail guide book for ~$60 I think?
I don't see why you couldn't order one online(the ball hitch) or go to your favorite hardware store. But no, they don't include the ball hitch.
