Poll for those who replaced their fuel tank in WK2 2011

I've had my car for about a year and sloshing started really getting on my nerves, considering that most of my driving is stop and go.

As you know there is an official TSB for fuel tank replacement:

In this poll I am seeking a feedback from people who had this TSB performed. I don't want my car messed with unless tank replacement actually fixes this problem.

In your replies please let us know if fuel tank replacement caused other problems due to procedure being performed incorrectly.

I had this TSB performed when it first came out. No problems, it stopped the sloshing 100%.

Had mine replaced about 6 months ago. Most if not all of the sloshing seems to have disappeared. After 2 days the “loose gas cap” light came on. No matter how many times I removed and tightened the cap the light would not go off. I crawled under the vehicle and discovered the tech forget to reconnect one of the evap lines. I snapped it back into place and have not had any issues with it since. I say go for it while it is still under warranty. Imagine if you try to sell it in a couple of years and the prospective buyer hears the sloshing. It is not the most comforting sound.

I've only ever noticed sloshing from outside the vehicle when I pushed on it...should I bother getting this done nevertheless?

Only you can make that decision. If ChryCo thought it was important enough to update the gas tanks with (better) baffles, then it is important enough to me to do the same. That’s why I decided to have it changed. Yeah, it’s a gamble that the do it right and not mess up something else, but that is the chance you take with EVERYTHING – even the basic oil change.
