Dome light controls, specifically driving wtih the tailgate open

So like the nice guy I am, I stuffed a mattress in the back of the JGC for my sister in law. Only problem was I had to drive with the liftgate partially up for the short trip. That wasn't really the problem - the problem was every light on the inside of the truck stayed on the whole time.

Where are the controls for the dome/interior lights?!?! I swear I looked high and low to no avail.

The interior lights can be controlled from the module circled in the picture.

^^ I swear I tried that. Maybe I need to investigate further in the day light tomorrow. Thanks!

you turn the dial all the way to the bottom notch - disables interior light when opening doors.

i actually think this is the wrong way to control interior lights, as to keep interior lights off when doors open, you'd have to keep your dash illumination level at the lowest setting. There should be an independent control for this, but hardly a major issue.

I agree. I prefer how some cars handle the interior lighting - a 3-way switch: ON / OFF / AUTO

And a seperate control for the dimming of dash lights.

Thanks for the info - I see the controls now. Totally not an intuitive design- I agree this could have been executed much better.
