Drive.Com.Au 4WD of the Year: JGC :o)

Hi all,

don't know if anyone has posted about it already, but the JGC CRD Laredo won 4WD of the year in Drive.Com.Au against the Land Rover Discovery

That's great to know. Thanks for the post. However, they talk about it being a Laredo diesel then state, "The other impressive part of the Jeep was its value; for $50,000, buyers get a leather interior with electrically adjusted seats, rain-sensing wipers, auto headlights, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and full-colour touchscreen with Bluetooth phone connection and reversing camera." Since when can you get a Laredo diesel for $50,000 and with leather seats etc etc?

This comment probably should be in the export thread but, they say leather interior not seats, which is true - leather door liners and center console. All that other stuff comes standard. The $50,000 is rrp you need to add on roads.

Plus I assume they meant aussie dollars and not american.
Though the conversion is not that great, with an amount of 50k, you'd drop almost 1.5 thousand off the price (if the mental conversion was correct)
So you can assume it's 48.5K american.

That's if they meant aussie dollars, the link won't open on my pc for some reason (seems like it's time to change this 6 year old beast of a machine). I am aware it's probably more of a problem with crap on the pc rather than the actual laptop.

Anyways, maybe that makes a bit more sense? Don't know. In Kuwait for a 2011 Hemi overland fully loaded including all the offroad goody packages(apart from the summit features such as acc and such) you're paying roughly 50k (atleast that's what I'm paying). That's after discount and paying straight cash.

Not so sure if that's too expensive or cheap, I don't know the real price people are paying in the states to compare. I just know what the websites are stating and those don't even seem to be a true depiction of the final cost. Or maybe I'm wrong, I've never bought a car in the states. What you guys paying for it in the states?
