Floor Jack Lift Points

Before I lift my vehicle with a floor jack, I want to be sure of the correct lift points. I see the 2 at the rear in front of the tires. I know in the owners manual, it says to place the factory scissor jack at the pinch welds behind the arrow on the rocker moulding. But using a floor jack will crush the pinch weld. I see a spot closer towards the center of the car, looks like a frame rail. Is that the safe spot?

I used the pinch weld spots behind the front tires with a floor jack, no problem. Agreed, it could be a bit more clear.

I believe if you have air suspension. There is a way to deactivate it before you lift your Jeep.

ya ... if you have QL you need to disable it .... I think you have to hold the up and down button together for a few seconds and then the EVIC will state QL disabled. To re-enable it you just drive over 15 MPH and it re-enables ... its in the guide.

I already know how to disable the QL. I was just looking for a good spot to lift the front of vehicle using a floor jack. I know the pinch weld will get deformed and will rust by not using the proper adapter on the pinch welds.

I use Race Ramps when working on my cars. They don't work for changing a tire but they're great for getting your car up in the air so you can work under it.

Under the guide it says not to lift under the differential because of being made of aluminum, I believe it says that about the WK also.
I have always lifted my WK (and G8) from the aluminum differential with no issues, has anyone lifted the WK2 using the differential?

I wouldn't do that. This vehicle weighs almost 5000 lbs. You are putting at least 2000+ lbs of pressure on a single point of an aluminum case that was designed to house gears. Its not designed to lift that much weight. Just my opinion.

Thanks, I saw that but that still looks like the pinch weld area in the front. I will have to see if I can find an adapter to use with my floor jack so I can use the front pinch weld area.

Thanks. Yes, I saw that one earlier. I could use one that doesn't have that center post sticking out of the bottom. I'm thinking of modifying a hockey puck.
