I put the hidden hitch aftermarket hitch on mine. Like you, I wasn't comfortable cutting the rear bumper. You'll have to get the wiring harness to go with it. The harness is plug and play with your tail lights.

I haven't used the Valley brand, but I do have an aftermarket hitch from Hidden Hitch on my old non-Jeep SUV and while it works flawlessly, it does look like an aftermarket hitch. It hangs below the bumper rather than looking integrated.

If/when I do a hitch on the new Jeep, I will be installing the Mopar one and cutting the bumper.

I read the installation guide and it looks pretty easy to cut out the fascia. Take your time, measure twice, cut once :)

I've installed Valley brand hitches on a few rigs and haven't had issues. Personally I would get the Mopar Hitch and cut the fascia, but if you aren't comfortable with doing that, you should be safe with the Valley Hitch.

You may want to compare the Valley Hitche's weight rating against the ratings in the Owner's Manual for the Mopar hitch. The Valley hitch may be a little less. Of course it's only a concern if you plan on getting close to that weight rating.

Re: after market trailer hitch

thank you all for the ideas, the truth is i would prefer to go with the oem hitch, but i have two problems, number one being the dealer does not have it in stock (i live in the UAE), so if i have to buy it online i'll end up paying a fortune for the shipping, second reason i am not that good with tools, so when it come to cutting an slicing my car, i definitely dont feel that much confident.

i'll end up going to 4x4 modding shop here in the UAE and have custom build a hitch for me...

but i am not sure about the wiring and lights, i understood that it needs to be programmed by the dealer??? or is it possible some other way???

Another consideration: the factory hitch wont affect your ground clearance or departure angles, but an aftermarket hitch probably hangs a bit lower since it is under the bumper.

Can a few people please post pictures of aftermarket vs mopar hitches?

This would be a huge help in deciding
