New Tweets are in! (with pics)

I got the new kicker 1" SS tweeters in today. Only took me about 20 minutes per side to install. I hooked them up to the stock tweeter wires and put a small bass blocker on them for the meantime until i put in my amp and add the crossovers. Just couldnt stand the stock tweeters sound! Here ya go check em out and tell me what you think! I might also take the grills off the tweeters and paint the blue rings white to match the color of my jeep!! 2011 WK2 Laredo

You can post multiple pics in the same post by using the IMG and /IMG notation. You simply surround IMG with [ and ] and then copy the link to your picture from your flickr account. In your album you should have a button that says "actions", and if you click it you can view all sizes. From there you can choose which size pic you want to post.

I use photobucket instead of flickr, so someone may know an easier way, but...It would look like this, except you would replace < > with [ ]:

How do they sound compared to stock?

They sound 100x better i keep them hooked up to the stock amp but i did put the crossovers in the doors as well. I can crank it all the way up and they are crystal clear and loud! The stock tweeters were killing me with all the distortion at high volume!

those tweeters are about as small as your pics.

Do you plan on running an aftermarket amp soon? If so how do you plan on hooking it up? Using a line out converter? And if that is the case where are you going to wire it to? After the factory amp, (speaker or sub signal) or before the factory amp from the headunit?

They look great there.
Q ~ Do they have matching replacement speakers for the doors?
Q ~ Can you say approx, what they cost?

The tweets are 1" i believe same or a little larger than stock size and the drivers that go with them are 6.5" Kicker SS. I do plan on putting in an aftermarket amp probably a Sundown 100.4 which puts about 800 true watts of power. I plan on hooking up the LOC BEFORE the factory amp so im not getting noise from the stock amp. I also plan on doing one 15" sub probably FI audio Q series and putting about 3000 watts on it although it can handle more! Cant wait

Hi,

I tried to remove the stock tweets, but could't remove the upper door trim, the bottom fastener is really tight and I did't forced it with fear of breaking something. I looked into the interior trim removal pdf, but it just states to remove the upper trim out... so you just have to force out the bottom upper trim panel fastener??

Also, how did you locked in place the new tweets?? the housing is likely different from the stock ones that locks in place with the tweeter tabs.

Thanks!

Pablo
