possible conversion question

i havent seen the new srt8 in person yet but maybe you can help. my question has to do with the small pieces (flares) above the wheel wells and on the doors. how are they attached to the body? do they bolt on the fender edge and have double sided tape? do you think these could be put on a non srt8 wk2? thanks

I was just kidding guys but Im just assuming that after figuring out all the cost of the trim and panels that it would be a pretty penny!

I don't know for certain, but I would assume there is actual fittings of some sort holding them firmly to the body. Tape would never pass quality control and hot weather tests.

I also think cost would be prohibitive.

If the parts are cheap enough, simply colour match them and Sikaflex them to your Jeep, carefully to get the panel to line up beautifully..

No need to drill or mod the Jeep. And Sikaflex will NEVER let go.

You'll also need new wider wheels to fill it out otherwise it will simply look ridiculous.

Why don't you ask Scottina06?

Scottina06 12-08-2011 11:24 PM

The fender flares will bolt on the wk2 nonsrt.....good luck finding a set. Plus they won't line up with the nonsrt bumpers....

thats the plan (already got my parts list with the part numbers ready) but i was just curious about those pieces. im sure that they will use the same push in plastic rivits on the fender edge as my non srt8 wk2 but i was most curious about what held the them on near the body line.
