2008 JGC RER radio issue

The radio in my 2008 JGC, RER, started turning itself off & on yesterday while I was driving. I tried searching the forum but was unable to on my phone. Anyone have any ideas about what the fix might be, besides bringing it to the dealer? Thanks

^^^ There's a menu in the RER where it provides software information. Retrieve that and share with us!

It could be a software issue or a simple reset of the battery might be tried first to see if it alleviates the problem.

Remove the negativ pol from the Batterie for 15 min. And try again for Look the Application Software

When this not work, remove the Mygig hdd and test without the hdd, the Mygig work.

When Know you have no issue the problem are the hdd and you Need a New One!

No!

the Mygig have this issue you can Not do a update, when the Unit restart in the bootinstall Modus the Mygig can go in the emergency Error Modus

Its a Big risk.

I disconnected the negative terminal on the battery for 15 minutes and then reconnected. It is now staying turned on!! Thanks for the help. These Jeeps have some weird quirks!!

Battery/electronic issues show up sometimes. I had no sound on my RER even when I turned the volume up but a battery reset fixed the problem.

ok and now you must update to 2.402 directly!

downloading:

http://mofv.com/mygig/WithNav/RER_2.402.zip

Software installation and burning instructions apply to all MyGIG - Uconnect Devices

For the software updates, I recommend just the Verbatim CD-R, with this I never had any problems, or simply a CD-R Qualitative assume no RW `s!

Unzip the downloaded zip and burn only the folder Becker and the files CD_INFO.CDI and CONFIG.CDI on the disc!

run with the slowest burning speed and in that time no other application in the background.

The disc name always so depending on what you use Update: REN_9.292 or REW_2.042 xxxxxxxxxx etc.

Installation:

- Ignition on, engine not running on
- insert the update disk, waiting for the message in the display like, "You upgrade from 1.2xxx to" 2.0xxx click yes.
- Thendont touch anything, just run.
- After installation, the unit restarted again wait until the report comes in the display "You want to upgrade from 1.2xxx to 2.0xxx"
then press no, and only then take out and remove the disk.
- Remove the key and close the car.
- Wait 2 minutes for sleep down the canbus and then you again can play around with it.
