Engine Light

About 2 weeks ago i was rapidly accelerating in first gear, when i slowed down to make the turn i look to see that my engine light was on, so i got home pulled no codes and brought it into the jeep dealership, they called me back later in the day to tell me that there was nothing wrong with the truck and everything is in working condition, (they swapped out my signal directional computer and the directional stick thing). I am kind of disappointed that they said there was no problem bc every time i turn my car into accessory mode, the engine light stays on for a few seconds and then turns off and then comes back on and blinks and make a sound and stays on, but once i turn the car on it disappears. IS there anything that could possible have happened and they just reset the dash so it wouldnt show bc theyre a lazy dealership...

Re: Engine Light

I doubt they're being lazy because the techs get paid for every car they work on. If they are lazy and simply find excuses not to work on cars then they wouldn't get paid as much.

As for the code, I have no idea. Another Chrysler gremlin.

Re: Engine Light

It is operating as designed, the flashing mil key on engine off simply means not all the monitors have run, if the battery has run dead/ disconnected, codes cleared or any module update performed (codes are cleared following updates) it will reset all your monitor information and this flashing exactly as you described simply indicates that not all the monitors have completed.

A dtc will take 40 good trips to reset, meaning if something sets the code, for it to completely clear itself it will take 40 good warmup cycles to completely clear the dtc from memory.

I defiantly prefer my 4.7 over the 3.7. Feels like it pulls the weight of the car better.
