Pinch weld question...
 
what exactly is the pinch weld mod everyone is talkin about??? the only thing i could find with pics was a how to and it looks like its the fender lip in the wheel well??? and people onlt have a problem with this when the get articulation???

Nope, its an actual pinch weld behind the wheel well fender liner. Guys running bigger tires can hit said pinch weld with their tires causing issues. That's why its hammered flat, for clearance.

ok does anyone have pics of it??? i plan on gettin the x factor lift with 1.5" spacers and 265/70r tires on stock rims would i need to do this mod??? with maybe minor offroadin...

yes you will have to do it even if you didn't offroad at all. it will hit when you turn.

still have yet to do mine with my 255s. rubbings getting annoying now with the 1.5" spacers and 255s. whats the simplest way to take care of this?

Remove the inner fender well lining, make radial cuts into the seam between the pinch welds and use a hammer to pound the pinch weld seam flat. You're also going to have to cut the fender well liner and either tape/fiberglass it up. I've used Gorilla tape and its held strong against all elements without fail.

mind you there is a "pinch weld mod" for the front as well as the rear of our vehicles

U puttin those tires on 17 or 18 rims?
I'm runnin 255/70R18 with no pinch weld mod or spacers

Get rid of the wheel spacers. :thumbsup:

Did the pinch weld mod front and rear today! Was super easy and only took and hour and a half. No more rubbing!
