E-brake pad replace

Anyone replace the emergency brake pads? I see in the manual that you have to pull the axel, is that true? I can't stand drum type brakes. I thought I was going to get away from those when I traded my dakota in for this GC. Guess I was wrong.

it is much easier to pull the axle than you would think. i hated replacing mine because the rotors dont want to come off, but it wasnt too bad after getting off the rotors.
