Whoa's build thread
I finally got some pics on photobucket,so.........
these seem to be the only stock pics i can still find

my first mods were under hood. the required HEMI orange paint, and I built my own (not-so-cold) air intake.:p I built it out of pvc parts from lowes
I used a "street" elbow and a larger size pipe to give it a smoother look, but I didnt want the big lip on the inside to mess with airflow so I tappered it smooth.

I used a coupler (same size as the elbow) to mount the filter on,and smoothed the inside of it as well. heres how it looked before, cant find the after shot
I painted the elbow with black wrinkle paint, and had the tubing covered in chrome vinyl.I used a T clamp and a bracket to mount/support it behind the headlight, and the stock coupler @ the TB. I drilled a hole in the tube to put the IAT sensor in(snug fit no grommet) and just put a vent filter on the other side for the pcv system.

Re: Whoa's build thread
The next mods were to debadge & drop it :) I used wk bilsteins and wk eibachs..
I also blacked out the pillars
next I color matched the trim then I got a mopar front lip.It was silver,so i decided to plastidip it black to see how it looked
I was kicking around some ideas with the window trim:
and black:
put havent decided yet.also I whited out my 3rd brake light.I LOVED the look, but during the day it was VERY hard to see when applied.
but was ok @ night!
sorry for the crackberry pics.

Re: Whoa's build thread
I did the grille mesh mod as well. i ran out of time the 1st day and didnt paint it...these are better shots of the front lip also
I liked the look ok, but the bare mesh wasnt gonna stay that way,so I went ahead and painted it.. grey mesh and,for now white plastidip, just in case :D
cant forget my JG sticker! Had a sign shop make a bigger one. It's SUPPOSED to look like etched glass(and the samples on clear did) but my tint changed the look :(
Then my exhaust  Cherry bomb vortex muffler and dual challenger tips
well, I did a few things fairly quick,so i didnt get lots of in between pics
I put my stock rear springs back in to keep from bouncing off the stops with stuff in the back, plastidiped the mopar lip& then the sides white, and got new, bigger tires 245-70-17 goodyear silent armour's

Re: Whoa's build thread
I painted the calipers awhile back
also put in a catch can
and an ADDCO rear swaybar
much beefier:)
I've heard people say the included bushings/brackets were no good to use, mine were ok,however i did have to open up the bolt holes. I used a diegrinder to make them fit, only took a few min.
also the holes in the sway were a bit tight for the stock end links-more with the grinder, but not bad.

Re: Whoa's build thread
The chrome vinyl i used on the intake didnt like the heat this summer and got all out of shape, so I got rid of it, painted the whole thing silver, and added a heat sheild, so now it IS a CAI :slapfight:I switched the little spectre filter i had for a bigger AFE as well
I made the sheild out of a piece of corregated plastic- no heat soak. havent gotten the weatherstriping for the top yet though

Re: Whoa's build thread
I need to update this thread!
A while back i tinted my tails. store was out of vht, so i got rustoleum. mask, tint, dry, wetsand, clear, dry, wetsand, polish! Also blended my 3rd brake light

The pressure washer removed theJG stickers i had, so i had a shop make me some new ones out of the vinal they use for wraps- one piece VERY tuff!

My water pump started leaking a while back, but i like to do more than one thing at a time. I was thinking about advancing the stock cam, but after discussing it with Ryan, decided not to.( I like high rpms too much:D) However, for the sake of keeping it together at my beloved rpm's I got a 6.1 tensioner for it.The dealer had it for like $30,got a new timing cover seal for insurance NOTE:
my local dealer only has the 5.7 gasket listed WITH the whole cover!!
I got the 6.1-sans cover. dont understand the thinking, but if you need one....
5.7 tensioner

Re: Whoa's build thread
my upper rad hose was getting poked by some nubbs sticking out of the fan shroud, so i smoothed it down

Yay for new stuff!

I wanted to make it more spiffy, so i got a stainless hose from summit, but the ends only go up to 1-1/2" thats the top rad size, but the t-stat housing was bigger... so after hasseling the local autozone guys for a long time, I got a housing for a '77 360. as is, the tstat set into the groove, and wouldn't push to seal it, so out came the sander.
for good measure i cleaned up the jagged edge inside as well (sorry forgot pics)
then i got this bad boy!
it's sfi rated & 20% underdriven
needs a smaller belt
fits pretty good
under construction :)

Re: Whoa's build thread
had some issues with the damper bolt, but finally got it!
bad part was i had to pull the rad & fan to do it  dumped alot of steering fluid
some water too, but most was from the steering/fan system. If you are going to change ,flush this out, get it dealer only had 2 qts! had to order more- takes a lot. and it aint cheep! $35 for 2 qts!
after changing the tensioner, water pump, hoses, and oil i took a short trip-2 hrs. last time evic showed 15.4 this time was 15.8, and i stomped it a little more :thumbsup:I still need to change plugs soon, but almost 1/2 mpg (75 on hwy + some in town) and a much quicker revving engine to boot!
