New 18" wheels and Silent Armors

I put my new Factory wheels and Goodyear silent aromors on the Jeep today. I will try to post some pictures tomorrow. I have a question thought. When I was driving on the highway I was getting a slight shimmy in the wheel. Then when I got home I torqued the lugs to 110 ft lbs as it calls for which gave me a good half turn on them and I added a couple pounds of air up to 36 cold. Then when I took it back out on the highway it was smooth as can be. My question is would either one of these things have corrected that slight vibration because it seems to be gone now?

Seems like you answered your own question :)

Good luck with the new shoes. And post pics!

Yes, always a good idea to recheck torque on lugnuts after wheel install and a few miles.

how's the ride compared to the 20" stock GY tires? I believe you had the 20" overland wheels with vibration issues, right?

I did have vibration off and on with the 20's but at the time I took them off it seemed to have been resolved. This vehicle is very sensitive to tire balance. The ride is different the Silent armors are more bouncy but they don't have that edge the 20's have over small cracks in the pavement. With either tire it has fairly stiff ride, but I think it drives better overall with the 20's.
