Thule Aero Blades Pic Heavy

Just installed these, the GC looks much cleaner without a roof rack but my family surfs so I had to get some. I wish Thule would make these cross bars in black ! As you can see I am going with the mostly black theme on my ride.

Around 75 MPH there is a slight high pitched whistling sound. 35-55 there is a slight low pitched whooshing sound. Both are barely noticable.

It does feel a bit different when I drive her. Kind of like I have 2 spoilers on top of my GC.

There are plenty of threads here discussing different racks for the WK2's I would recommend moose's ! I choose the thule rack mainly because I did not want to put a fairing on my jeep, and figured I could get away with the aero blades + I like the way they look compared to the others. I don't like how the cross bars stick out past the rails. I may try and get some shorter ones. I purchased the 47 inch aero blades. I believe that the 43 inch aero blades may not be long enough? Has anyone tried the 43 inch cross bars ? I sure I could measure it just haven't had a chance.

They look OK to me. Probably be cooler if you painted them. Why no pix at the beach? It is 17 degrees F. here now in Upstate NY.

You could always either paint hem then use some of that clear film they use on the front of car to protect from scratching the paint or cover the bars in that 3M carbon fiber wrap. Just a thought. Still looks hot.

Hi juan I also have the aeros. I put them on and also a roof basket and had some wind noise but no big deal. Since I have removed the roof basket I am getting a harmonic hum out of these blades even at 60km/hr it's nearly unbearable at 100km/hr. Did you notice anything like this before you put the surfboard holder on?

EDIT UPDATE: I spoke to the retailer and they said the plastic inserts that sit in the gaps on the underside were missing from my shipment and they will send them out.... all good.
