210 to 300 hp? 230 to 330 ib-ft?

Is it anywhere near possible to get my 3.7 liter from 210 hp to around 300 hp? What about 230 ib-ft to 330 ib-ft for torque? Tired of this p***y s**t

the 3.7 is tuned from the factory pushing out just about as much hp as you can get out of it, jeep did a wonderful job building the exhaust for this truck other wise id say get an exhaust ... an exhaust will help but youll see minimul gains. i would say do the obvious, a chip, a CAI, and possibly an exhaust.

id say your 300 mark is a little out of reach but with a few bucks you could pick up maybe 40-50 to the FLY, theres not too many companies......correction, i dont think there are any companies that makes a cam or internals for a 3.7

but then again you must remember we both have an underpowered motor in a very heavy truck....

Are there any really good intakes, chips, or exhausts that work especially well with the 3.7s, or just in general?

take your 3.7 and trade it in for a 5.7 WK. thats your best bet

as far as the tuner i know diablo makes a predator tune for the 3.7 liberty, im almost positive their interchangable and with an advanced timing you can run a higher octane and there for boosting performance, but you add mpg

ive heard of people seeing good results with a k&n CAI and a magnaflow exhaust combo,

adding a header will deff increase power but you have to be careful on which type of power your looking for a long tube is what your going to need shortys will decrease low end torque. and again, more money on gas. its kind of a loose loose situation

that amount of money it would take to be pushing that 300 mark you'd wish'd you went with an 8 cyl. the 3.7 is a great and reliable engine for what it has to do

Do a Search for 3.7 's there are tons of threads here...tunes, TB's exhaust, blah blah.dont know about the 300hp,but read some of those threads, there's power to be had.

The 3.7 is a dog to begin with, and not a smooth engine either. You can throw money at trying to mod it, but you will not be happy with the end result. Just trade it for another one with a hemi. You'll end up spending less on he trade than on the modding, and will have a much more powerful and smooth motor.

A good percentage of my time is spent working on 3.7 parts. It is based on the 4.7 and seems to respond well to mods considering its size.

I have ported several 3.7 throttle bodies and a intake manifold. Both provided noteworthy gains, even without adding a tuner. JeepKid on here has both, you can either search for his remarks or you can PM him yourself.

I would say TB/manifold porting, mandrel bent exhaust from the manifolds back, intake, and a tuner would get you close to your goals.

C.mon guys, there is absolutely no way you are going to add 100 HP to any motor by adding ported TB, exhaiust, etc. Plus, you have to look at the entire torque and HP curve, not just a peak value, which is the most important thing in drivability. You will spend an awful lot of money trying to get 300, never get there, and in the end it still will never be close to a hemi.

We ALL know it'll never be like a hemi, but it, like any other engine, can be improved. The hemi's displacement ,and therefore torque, make it the "top dog" for these hands down and a little 6 wont match it. Doesnt mean it cant be made stronger or more fun to drive.

Re: 210 to 300 hp? 230 to 330 ib-ft?

A ported intake, TB, exhaust and you will certainly gain HP, but only in higher RPM, but at the expense of low/mid RPM torque which will be worse than stock, meaning poorer everyday drivavbility. There is no free lunch with most mods, as they say. Even adding a CAI loses low end torque, versus the stock air intake.
