2005 grand cherokee a/c clicking noise

my fiance's jgc just started doing this a month or so ago. whenever i turn the car on, this clicking starts & lasts for about 20 seconds or so. it sounds like it's coming from directly behind the vent. has anyone had this problem or know what it could be? thanks for any help or suggestions.

Re: 2005 grand cherokee a/c clicking noise

just wanted to give a quick follow up. i tackled this over the weekend - got the entire dash removed to expose the system & try to find the problem. there are a couple of actuators that turn the different doors & it turns out one of them had gone out & that is what the noise was. before you tear the dash off, get up under the driver's side kick panel & locate one of the actuators (almost right behind the ignition). this is the one that had gone out & i ended up not needing the dash off for the fix (live & learn, right?). i hope someone can learn from this & get it fixed the easy way.

let me know if you have any questions.
