Remote start Dealer Programming

Why on earth must I pay $240 minimum for the kit and then shell out another 100 to the dealer for programming? Seems a bit much doesn't it? Is there any way at all to program the module myself, or is the dealer the only place to get it done?

The programming is probably the labor to install the kit. They are not plug and play. You have to install the antenna, module, harness, hood switch, then program the module to the vehicle. You can buy the kit from mopar.com and they come with installation instructions. The install kit is $210.
