Easy Seat Belt Chime Turn OFF

This is the easiest way to turn off the Seat Belt Chime with out leaving your belt plugged in behind you when you don't want to wear your seat belt. I have a pair and they work great.

Just thought i would share this since i know a few topics have been started over "turning off the seat belt chime".

I just ordered a pair. $14, free shipping for both. Can't really go wrong with that. Thanks!

You're welcome... I hate that chime; once I found these at that price i thought i can't go wrong trying so i did. I haven't had the chime since. Just be careful when you get them and you push the red button to unclick it. If you are not holding it, it will rocket launch out of the plug.

Re: Easy Seat Belt Chime Turn OFF

There is a way to disable the chime by the way. It's listed in the full user manual. I disabled it on mine due to it being a pain in the butt when I'm hunting as I drive around farm fields and am often exiting/entering my Jeep.

Quote:

The following steps must occur within the first
60 seconds of the ignition switch being turned to the
ON/RUN or START position. Chrysler Group LLC does
not recommend deactivating BeltAlert.

1. With all doors closed, and the ignition switch in any
position except ON/RUN or START, buckle the driver’s
seatbelt.

2. Turn the ignition key to the ACC or ON/RUN position
(do not start the engine), and wait for the Seat Belt
Reminder Light to turn off.

3. Within 60 seconds of starting the vehicle, unbuckle
and then re-buckle the driver’s seat belt at least three
times within 10 seconds, ending with the seat belt
buckled.

4. Turn the ignition key to the OFF position. A single
chime will sound to signify that you have successfully
completed the programming.

NOTE: Watch for the Seat Belt Reminder Light to turn
on while the seat belt retracts and turn off while rebuckling
the seat belt.

I don't know if you can disable it at least not here in the states. I have tried and can not get it to disable, I did it on many vehicles in the past but I think Chrysler took away the ability on 2011+ MY vehicles.

I too disabled my seat belt chime.
It was actually very easy - as outlined above by RageOfFury.

I wasn't aware of this until I received and read the FULL Owners Manual.
It only takes a few minutes, and from then on, only the seatbelt light will come on and stay on solid (it doesn't flash annoyingly either).

Thanks Jeep

Between steps 2 and 3 above, do you actually start the engine?

Worked on my 2012 here in the states.

It says not to, however when I did mine I couldn't remember what it said and I started it and it worked.

Re: Easy Seat Belt Chime Turn OFF

I used this combo to disable it on my 2008 WK but with the push button start on the WK2 i just never tried. I like the adapters cause it also gets rid of the light (not that it's annoying) just so i don't eventually burn out the bulb in the dash for it.
