Picked it up last night. Not navy blue. More grey with a hint of blue.

Nice sophisticated color. It can look black, blue, grey...depends on lighting. Good choice!

I like the Silver, mineral grey and Maximum Steel....but then I also like the red. Yikes....decisions, decisions.

Congrats on the purchase.
This is one colour I have not seen in person. Can't wait.
As others have said - it looks so different depending on the view, sun, angle, etc..

And of course, I love that interior. :D

does it have the flakes of sparkle in it like brilliant black does? i thought it was a flat color because it doesn't have "pearl" but it looks sort of sparkly.

Re: Maximum Steel Overland

It does sparkle (when the sun shines in Chicago). It is a metallic paint.

what is the difference between metallic and pearl paint?

Re: Maximum Steel Overland

  • Metallic paint contains small evenly-sized flakes of aluminum. This gives the auto paint its shiny appearance. Pearl paint uses flakes of mica, a synthesized, inorganic product whose addition produces a sheen-like finish.

  • Cars that are painted with metallic paint have a shine that remains the same no matter the angle from which it is viewed. Changing perspectives gives pearl paint the appearance that the shade of the car color has changed. A car that is viewed from one direction may appear white, but more like gold from a different angle.
