Catch Can on 4.7?

I see here and everywhere eles people have put a catch can on their 5.7 Hemi. Rightly so, keeps all that crap outta the engine. I have yet to see one for a 4.7 though. Is there any out there? Is it even needed on this engine? I have the Gen 2 4.7. Thanks:)

Not quite as badly as the Hemi but yes it is a good idea.

So do I just by the catch-can for the Hemi and put it on my 4.7, or is there a specific one?

Still looking to buy a proper catch can for my 4.7 gen 2. I have not found one yet. Anybody have any suggestions?

They aren't model specific, any universal can would work provided it is sealed and you have a bracket to hold it in place.

make sure its not just some e bay can...most of those don't have any internal baffling to condense the oil vapor. there just a can and the vapor comes in and goes right back out. some of the cheaper ones have a foam baffle which is even worse after the oil sits a wile it will start breaking down the foam and inturn u will have foam in ur crankcase and oil.... take a look at the inlet and the outlet and where there are placed the better ones will be further apart. greddy makes a good one as well as many tuner companies and expect to pay around 100 bucks for a new one.. if u want to get something that actually works well... or u can make ur own with a simple trip to the hardware store and a purchase of a air water separator for like 10/15 bucks and will work even better then a catch can lol

Judgeing by what most of the SRT folks are using, I was either going to get a Moroso or BT catch can. I had not really considered anything else.

I just changed my air filter, on my '05 4.7L WK, and noticed I had some oil dripping from the small vacuum line onto the air filter.

I take it this is a problem remedied by a catch can?

Mosier did you end up installing one? What did you go with?

I have not put one on yet. I have been working so much OT coupled with all the "super hooah" training for this next deployment I have not had time to take out the intake system to get a real idea on just how dirty these engines get. From what I looked at as far as universal catch cans, the Moroso looks to be the best thing going. I just need to get one, have a bracket made and mount it up. When that happens I will post pics on this thread. Also, if I get the intake system apart and it's really clean, I'll post that up too as then maybe I might wait on a catch can if it is not really needed for this engine.
