Intakes for a 3.7

so it's about time I got one. anyone here with a 3.7 that particularly likes their intake? I'd love to know what you guys have and how it's working out for you before I make any decisions!

Pretty happy with my K&N setup. Installed easily and feels like a quality product. Noisy intake sound on startup but that's normal with any aftermarket intake on the v-6. Not much difference in power but did seem to pick up a bit of mpg (maybe .5-1) on the highway. Thinking about swapping to a dry filter like an S&B, not sure if it's the cause but a mechanic friend thought I might have a bit of residue on the maf, and that's why it stalls once in a blue moon on startup. I don't usually jump on the "aftermarket parts are the cause" bandwagon but it does seem possible.

K&N + ported throttle body + SCT Programmer 93 tune =

You have a 2006 so the SCT will work.

One problem with that theory- Jeeps have no MAF.

I assume this is what you've got going on with your rig right now... did the throttle body alone make a huge difference? or is the SCT the big winner. I'd consider doing the TB alone, but probably wouldn't do the SCT without porting.

also, I understand little to none of this. maybe it's because I haven't had my coffee, or maybe it's because I am fairly new to this stuff haha.

Re: Intakes for a 3.7

I did CAI first. Then the TB. Then the SCT.

CAI - noticed nothing but noise.

CAI + TB - I was like, "Ok, there it is."

CAI + TB + SCT -

Re: Intakes for a 3.7

I've noticed mine stalled twice on start up after I installe my CAI. It's fired right up afterwards though.

I thought I wasn't holding the key long enough. Oh well.
