intake air temp sensor
 
Help,i want to install this chip on my 2007 grand cherokee with the 5.7 litre hemi engine. can anyone tell me where this sensor is located or send me a pic of its location, i want to be sure i tap into the correct sensor

In the back side of the intake cross-box, towards the intake air filter. You can see the 2-wire lead to it from above.
Crossbox silencer comes off with one nut (near intake air temp sensor), then slide off post towards radiator; lift out carefully. [Rubber flex connections should have been disconnected first.]
Surprising how much good HEMI stuff that box covers.....:D

hey Walt,looking at my engine with the stock box already removed,i am pretty sure i found the sensor,it is below the tps,on the intake manifold with a dark green and a brown wire attached to it,tomorrow i will hook my chip into those 2 wires and hopefully smack some wicked perf.thanks much!

You're quite welcome.

Not sure what you are trying to do, but my '08 has a "rationality" check at cold startup, where the IAT, outside air temp, coolant temp, and oil temp sensors are compared by the PCU to verify that they are working. Presumably, they must be in agreement within a certain error percentage (.....or something else happens, like a MIL or DTC).
If you get something strange after your mod, look to this as a reason for it. :( If not, enjoy your Jeep. :D
