Installing an Air Horn

My cousin is giving me an air horn and tank, its a pretty large 8 gallon tank, but its free so ill take it, I want to mount the tank in the cargo area with a quick disconnect from the horn so that I can take it out whenever I need to, I don't plan on having onboard air right now, so I would fill the tank from my 20 gallon compressor in my garage whenever I wanna use the horn, and 8 gallons of air should last. Anyone have any tips or ideas for where/how to mount the horn, and how to get the hose from the cargo area to the horn?!

Is it one of those short round tanks? I know you do a lot of off roading but I saw a thread of someone on here who mounted their tank up in their spare wheel.

Nathan has the pancake tank in his spare. One day I am going to do that. Your tank is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaat too big for the WK! It's for your house! Get this...

I wanna do this some time soon too!

Its a huge long round tank, and I know its large lol hence the quick disconnects so I only have to keep in back there when I wanna use it. 8 gallons will allow me to fill the tank at home and have a good amount of air for using it and I have no desire for onboard air right now

Carlos had his tank and compressor in the spare tire location. It fit because he had the tire elsewhere. If you remove your tire you can fit the tank down there or you can put it in the cargo area. I guess you could put it on your rack as well.

And Greg, this is where I got mine. You can save $10!

Re: Installing an Air Horn

mount the release valve near the horn, not the tank (solenoid). If you mount near the tank, you'll experience a lag in response on the horn since the air has to travel that distance first.
