On an 05' wk, whats the largest tire size you can fit on the 17" stock rim with no lift.

I have General Grabber2's in 255/65/17 size. I believe this is as big as you can go with no rubbing at all. By the way, I love these tires. Got them from Tire Rack.

255/70/17 if the tread pattern isn't that thick. I had a set on but reverted back to the stock dimensions.

Slightly more ground clearance and since it's wider, a little more stability and traction. This is true of the sizes we are talking about here. The guys that do mega lifts and huge tires are a different story and it's stupid unless you really go off-road a lot in real nasty stuff.
Also in my case, I went with a more agressive tread so I get better traction in nasty stuff yet don't get loud road noise as I would from a mud tire.

Jim,

Do you have a thread on how you trimmed the front valance... I can't believe you cleared 255/65s w/o a lift but if you said you did it, it must be true :lol:
