SRT8 Steering Wheel Installed

3 Attachment(s)
The SRT8 wheel is just the right size and shape and driving is even more of a pleasure than before. I could not be happier with how things turned out!

All buttons, heating function etc work perfectly... just not the paddles. (at least for now)

... anyone know where I can find the SRT8 shift knob?

.

Looks absolutely great! Really good work. I'm pretty sure you can remove the paddles.

Looks awesome! You have fixed the one thing I hate about the overland....the wood. Well done.

Love it! Long shot, but I wonder if the mod that the LX guys to use paddle shifters could work with the WK2.

Nice 604, beautiful. I've got both the CF material and SRT8 wheel in the garage just need to find install time.

I bought a 2009 SRT8 shift knob from Towbin Dodge on ebay, Just for Jeeps has them as well. I had to enlarge the shaft opening slightly by hand with a drill bit, but it is solid.

Very interesting! One member had the upshift working but perhaps this is the key to finish things off. This is the best info I was able to find:

Thanks Moose, that shift knob looks great and looks like it would match nicely. If I can`t get my hands on a 2012 shift knob this will be the way I will go for sure.

When you go to install the SRT wheel you will notice the weight/damper from the stock wheel will not fit. I just didnt use it and everything worked out fine. The hex bolt holding the wheel on still snugs up nice and tight. The steering wheel is an easy swap - now that I have done it a few times it only takes about 20min.

As for the CF wrap, it is time consuming but well worth it! Might be easier to do a piece at a time just be mindfull of weave directions and plan it out on the vinyl sheet ahead of time.

Ok from the couple pics I have seen of this mod, it looks like the brushed metal looking parts of the wheel are a "shinier" version that the wheel on the stock overland. It also looks more reflective than the other brushed metal looking trim pieces.

Is this true? Or is it just the picture that look that way.

That looks really cool. Nice work. I like the carbon fiber trim too. Where can I get the CF trim panels from and how difficult is it to install?
