Alignment?

Anyone notice their SRT8 pulling to the right? Or left?

Have fun,

Matt

One thing I always do on a new car purchase is have the dealer do an alignment before I take delivery. I once read that 80% of new cars come off the line mis-aligned.

Scott,

what about the tires? once aligned they "should" be good no? I've noticed many new Chevy Tahoes, Suburbans and Silverados that have odd tire wear on both front tires on the inner parts of the tires and not on the outer of one and inner on the other... something odd or similar to that?

Have fun,

Matt

last gen had inner tire wear...hopefully the camber is better on these

Re: Alignment?

There seems (by pics) and looks to be much more camber on these than the old ones...especially in the rear. IRS cars generally have more camber by default, the fronts also look heavily cambered.

My guess is inner tire wear is an issue down the road...but that is the price you pay. I am running -4 degrees on my race car and if it is not at the track it wears the inners bad.

Re: Alignment?

Back to the dealer on Monday. Jeep came misaligned, had it aligned by dealer at 1200 miles, then I had it aligned at about 6,000miles at a buddy of mines shop. Then recently at about 9000 I had the dealership realign it. Now I am at 10700 and it seems like it has done the same thing.... Seriously my '96 JGC tracks as straight as can be and it has just under 300k miles, anyone noticing this problem? It pulls noticable to the right.

This time I am taking the service manager for a ride.

Have fun,

Matt

Re: Alignment?

Dealer has come to the issue that its a bad tire. So my question now becomes the Jeep has 13,500 miles on it. They want to replace 1 tire, and is that "ok" to do with an all wheel drive vehicle like this?

Let me know your thoughts on this guys,

Matt

Do you have 3 season or all season tires on your SRT8?

Try to rotate the tires. If they told you that your rigth tire is bad, rotate that tire with rear tire, if that dont help and Jeep still pulls to your right then can't be tire.
