JL Audio CleanSweep CL-SSI & CL441dsp
Looking into these units from JL Audio... Had a full JL Audio system in my last WJ, and wanted to transfer it over to the "new" WK. Plan to keep the stock RER headunit, and looking for some information about the installation and sound quality from these two devices.

What's the best way to install one of these? Looked all over including several other Jeep forums, and while many folks claim to be running one (or both) of these units, I can't seem to find any write-ups or pix. Any help would be appreciated!

Re: JL Audio CleanSweep CL-SSI & CL441dsp
The best way to use a CleanSweep is to tap into the factory amp's speaker output. There are converters to create RCA outputs, but the CleanSweep SSI was built to clean line level and create full-range signal from the clipped originals. I don't think that the SSI is necessary, but it can create a 3-way signal with dedicated sub channel. The DSP itself has 4 channel line level input.

Re: JL Audio CleanSweep CL-SSI & CL441dsp
Thanks for the reply! Yeah, i'm not interested in run-of-the-mill LOC's and the "muddy" sound they're typically known for. I'm coming from an Eclipse head unit with 8v preouts, so looking for the best sound I can get without breaking the bank or ditching the RER.

Can the DSP be setup to run two amps?

I'll be installing JL components in both front/rear doors powered by a JL 300/4. Also plan to install a Stealthbox pushed by a JL 600/1 mono amp.

Is it possible to setup the CL441dsp to run one amp off the front RCA's and a second amp of the rear RCA's? Not sure what limitations this will create... i.e. external control of the sub

I imagine if the CleanSweep produces a full signal, it shouldn't matter, right?

I've also looked at the PAC units, but they don't appear to "clean" or otherwise "sanitize" the signal... plus they only have two RCA outputs (front/rear).

I really wish that damn CHR550 I just installed had RCA outputs on it – They should really sell them that way!

I have the PAC adapter and it works well...but i hear ya on the 550 not having multiple RCA outs, its silly they didn't do that! Here is my install thread, may help:

Re: JL Audio CleanSweep CL-SSI & CL441dsp
If I remember correctly, the CleanSweep can generate a full 6-channel from a single FULL RANGE signal. Which means that as long as you get the complete spectrum from the rear speaker outputs, you can have a non-fading sub channel, plus full range front & rear signals.

Just remember this! The factory Boston amp splits the front signal into a 2-way component using the front 6x9 as a mid-bass and the front 3-1/2" for the highs. So tapping into the front door speaker outputs on the amp will not yield full range if you plan to use components in the front along with the dash speakers. Also, all 4 doors attenuate when GPS or Bluetooth needs the dash speakers.

Sorry for the long delay!
