Insane Ligthing Issues - Please Help!!

So I had a spare set of DDM HID's from the 300, and decided to install them on the WK. Well, first off these things don't even work without a relay harness. Sooo, I decided to build one and went to AutoZone and came back $30 poorer. The harness is built, the HID's are in, everything seems to be working fine right? After a few days, I noticed that the driver's side taillight was not lighting up when braking. I took the entire taillight wiring and housing out checking for a blown bulb or fuse - found neither. I swapped some bulbs around, and like magic it worked. After that, I noticed that the running lights on the driver's side stopped working - both front and back. Stop and turn still work, but no night illumination. For awhile the passenger tail would not light when braking but does now. Needless to say at the wife's urging I pulled the HID's out. I honestly have no idea what went wrong or where I can find what is causing this issue. Anyone have something similar? Did the HID's cause this somehow? :(:(:(

Yeah, the harness I built basically had the lights grounded directly to the - terminal. What is strange is I broke out the multimeter and tried to pretend I know what I was doing - I found that at least in the front parking lamp the wiring harness was giving a solid +12v prior to the connection to the headlight harness, then at the bulb socket itself the voltage was only like +2v. Maybe thats normal? I don't know... I did (just for the heck of it) check the voltage going to the Mopar trailer harness - all seems fine there...

I have no idea how the HID's could affect your rear lamps....but dont ground on the negative terminal. I would ground the HID's at the oem fender ground. the oinly thing your relay harness should be connected to is the HID's.

Use the inner bolt closest to the center of the car. I had some freak thing with my tail lights. I only knew about it cause craig was following me out to the trail at one of the meets. He said my right (pass) side brake light worked sometimes. I stood in back of the jeep and hd pressed the brakes a few times and a few tomes when the brakes were pressed only the 3rd brake light came on. I don't know if it still happens. I still have the OEM tail light bulbs.
