Tranny problem?
I remotely started my car Right now I was about to leave class and I put my truck in drive and all of sudden it starts rolling back and it's responding to my pedal as if it was in reverse but it was clearly in drive, after 2 seconds it thrusted forwards with a thump sounds from the gear dropping in. Does anyone know why it would be in "reverse" when it is in drive.. Is there an issue with the tranny on tsb that I dont know about... Thanks.. And it's 41 degrees out but my truck was decently warm, this has happened to me before...

Re: Tranny problem?
Are you sure it was under power when it was rolling backwards, and not just gravity?

There have been a few people that have experienced delayed engagement issues (mostly related to a split in the seal of one of the transmission filters), but that certainly wouldn't cause the vehicle to shift into reverse. This would also explain it finally clunking into gear as the TC fills. Though I believe this problem was limited to the 545rfes...

If it really is under power in reverse, I would look at the linkage from the shifter to the transmission. It is possible(?) that the mechanical linkage needs adjusting to get the proper gear engagement - though I'm not sure about this. I think neutral physically separates D and R, so I'm not sure how likely that scenario is.

Good luck.

Thank you.. I know it wasn't gravity because I was On a flat
Level terrain parking lot and ad I stepped on the gas it went backwards as if I were in reverse.
