So for a US company to post profits and get things straight...all they need to do is not be American anymore.

Yay for Fiat....with a nod to Mercedes getting it done on the new GC.
Now if only Nissan would buy GM....

lol why would Nissan need to buy GM? They posted the 5th largest IPO in history at $18.1 Billion back in 2010. I would say their doing excellent for someone who was on the brink of collapse.

The GM cars remain fairly awful. I was recently in a new Impala. It cost over 30K and was just sad. From all of the plasticy feeling gear to the rotten handling. It even looks like something from the 90's. Until cars like this are brought up to date there's no excusing them and the entire line is tainted. We looked the Traverse....not exactly wonderful.

I thought you were talking from a financial standpoint but yes I agree, they are a good deal away in quality standards from some of the Asian car manufacturers.

Chrysler/Jeep appears to be seriously looking to put up a fight. The new GC is truly a contender against the German and Japanese SUVs, especially since Land Rover can't get the quality control in line.
But Ford and GM still build pure lemons in my view, cars that should have never seen the light of day. Chrysler is doing well, but they need to seriously get aggressive with their mini-van and perhaps make an AWD version again. Why let Honda and Toyota dominate in a segment they invented?
