Electrical problem
So after taking the jeep in I told the dealer my blinker kept going on and off super fast. I know this usually means th lights are going out but I have led tails and the front blinker is fine. Dealer says the circuit board for the rear brake light is corroded, I bought a used one off eBay oem and replaced. I'm still having the issue what else could it be? I think it might be related to my nav system and speakers but have no clue how. I recently installed speakers in my car replacing the factory ones and a touch screen nav the Wiring all seems okay from what I can tell but I don't know. The only other things I can think of is where I spliced to hook the back up cam into the reverse light or the LEDs are burning out but idk how to tell if they are. Any suggestions are great

Re: Electrical problem
could the wire be broken where you spliced it into the back harness

Re: Electrical problem
so i rewired my headunit, cause it seemed to short when that got overwhelmed (i guess would be the best way to describe it). the problem seemed to be fixed no rapid blinker no crazy speedometer. when i did this i also unhooked the battery and unhooked one of the dash speakers and turned it around because i remember when i installed that the car went crazy for a second, so it could have been any of those things. I also checked the brake light wiring and redid it just in-case and it seems to be okay. since i did this about a week ago nothing has happened until recently the blinker is back to its old ways. today i noticed that it only went crazy if i had the fog lights on. i didnt test with the headlights on or anything im gonna do that when i get home. i have no clue what else to do this is driving me nuts though any other suggestions?

I am scared for the electrical circuits in your vehicle lol

did you try a regular bulb?

Re: Electrical problem
Was it ever right after you installed the LED tail lights? Pretty normal to get the fast flash after installing those so you either run a fully electronic flasher can or use a resistor in the lights. That is what I did on my XJ.

lol me too i havent tried a normal bulb cause it stopped again and it snowed here so i dont feel like freezing lol but it only does it every once and awhile it didnt happen until the past few weeks after i installed my speakers the leds have been in awhile so the only way i think its that is if theyre dying but i hae no clue, the problem got less frequent after i rewired the headunit also to make it more confusing lol

Re: Electrical problem
figured i would update this one more time,

so in my search to cross out all stupid stuff that could be causing my blinker to go crazy i brought out my old tail lights thinking maybe the leds are goin bad or something. plugged in the old circuit board, blinker was still crazy.

next i was like well even though the front blinker seems to work sometimes maybe its that (i remember when my rear brake light bulb went out it would still light with the running lights but not when you hit the brake, the blinker seemed to light with the running lights but not when i turned on the blinker.)

i swapped it out with my old blinker light and pow it stopped blinking like crazy amazing. the story gets better though lol get in my car that night of course it starts doing it again , i notice the bulb is out though, so i figure hmmm those old bulbs were super old could have just burnt out.
next day i decide to switch the passenger bulb with the drivers bulb, again no crazy blinker works fine. weird part is i put the bulb that was in the driver side that seemed to originally cause all these problems (not the old one that burnt out that went into the trash) into the passenger headlight and it works fine weirdddddddddddddddddd

but since i have done this which has been about a week now i havent had any issues so im just gonna thank the jeep gods on this one and hope that it doesnt start happening again. I have no clue why the apparently broken bulb would work on the other side suggestions are always great, thanks for the help guys who replied to this.

Re: Electrical problem
Well that is a strange one. No idea why the difference one side to the other unless one socket has more resistance? Dirty or corrosion perhaps?
