ipod integration kit

Does anyone know where I can find this kit? I can't believe Mopar decided to discontinue this item.

Just was about to buy that ipod kit on ebay I posted a link to earlier and noticed it says it will not work if your vehicle is equipped with U-connect.

Anyone have some kind of ipod solution with an RAQ radio and U-connect?

Thanks I ended up going with the iSimple ISCH73 I posted earlier. The ebay seller assured me it would work with my RAQ radio with uconnect.

I'll report back with my findings.

Re: ipod integration kit

Went home for lunch today and installed the isimple.

It was exactly that simple, took me 30 mins to install.

Here's a crude writeup:

Tools:
Flathead screwdriver or pry tool
Soft cloth
Phillips screwdriver
Electrical tape

Disconnect negative battery terminal

Pop off the radio trim and vets, 5 clips total 2 on each side of the vents and one in the bottom center. I pried with the screwdriver wrapped is the cloth on one side of the vents pulling outward toward the rear of the car. Pop off rest of the clips.

Unscrew 4 black screws holding the radio to bracket

Unplug harness from rear of radio and connect the iSimple to the harness and then to the rear of the radio.

I do not have sirius so I taped off the harness on the iSimple for that. There is also a 12v wire you can tap to 12v lighting to illuminate the iSimple module. I was putting the module inside the dash out of sight so I taped off the 12v wire.

I zip tied the iSimple module and associated wires to the stock harness and tucked it all behind the radio.

I ran the ipod cable down to the floor along the inside of the center console and out the bottom for now. I plan to construct some sort of dock or bracket for the ipod in the near future.

Uconnect works just the same as it did prior to install.

Mode button switches radio to DVD mode with two options Chp 1 or Chp 2. Chp 1 is the ipod cable, chp2 is the aux RCA cable input on the iSimple.

Steering wheel controls and radio face skip songs back and forward for whatever playlist you are in.

It charges my the ipod as well (in my case an iphone 4s)

I'm very happy with the product and would recommend it. Audio quality is great.

I'll hopefully have a nice writeup with my custom install in a few weeks.

I don't have the NAV, I have the 6 disc stereo (RAQ).

My uconnect button is on the rear view mirror.

You have two options with this unit. One is to hook up any ipod with the supplied ipod dock cable. The other option is to hook up any audio source via the auxiliary RCA inputs.

I do not have VES but in order to install this you must unplug the VES. With some creative wiring I'd assume you could convert your VES output to RCA and attach it via the aux RCA plugs.

I have the navigation and my uconnect on my rear view mirror too. But my VES is taken by the dvd player in the back seat

Need help ASAP. I hooked up the iSimple ISCH73. everything works fine except when I plug the dvd player for the back seat. Then the mode button stops working and so does the VES. If anyone has any suggestions to a quick fix I'm open to them. thanks

Re: ipod integration kit

You can't use the VES and the isimple. If you installed the isimple only the headphones will work for the VES.
