dealer accident

Overland in for tint and service advisor idled/rolled into another car. They are having front bumper repainted as minimal damage but looks as if bunch of rock chips on bumper. Loaner car, free tint and repair anything else you think i should pursue? This was at my Audi dealership because they did such a nice job on A4.

Get the hood and fenders painted to blend

Dont milk the dealer, accidents happen, sounds like there doing quite a bit already.

I would not blend a bumper cover to existing panels. There is no need to repaint undamaged panels. Your good just check their work afterwards.

Audi loaner? I'd ask just for the fun of it all.

Don't expect them to continue giving you the service you love if you throw them under the bus when they were already righting the situation... Dont be "that guy".

The world we live in when people dont accept being made whole and feel they are owed more. *shakes head* maybe a loaner if they have the car longer than expected but for the love of god, pay for your tint.

Maybe it's just me but if the damage was not that bad, I would settle for a check to cover the painting (if you chose to fix), tint and be done with it.

I am one of those people that feels damage to the bumper will happen with people bumping you while parallel parking and the normal parking lots.

I wouldn't throw them under the bus. For me, I would take the cash and run honestly unless it was really bad. It doesn't sound that way being you used rock chips as an example.

FWIW, I had 4 Audis and a Touareg previously. The Germans have been tinting and doing clear bras for decades, either with their own shops, or with the best aftermarket guys in the market. Good call. Sorry about the love tap.

thx everyone - by no means am i intending to "milk". It is obviously frustrating when you don't see it happen and you get a call...but I have cooled off. I think they may throw in a detail...which will get all the cheerios out of the back seats! The overland has <2kmi...

A bit more then rock chips...but from my non-mechanical assessment hope it is just a "flesh wound"...essentially that was the essence of my question. I think I have enough trust in the world to have them just fix it (through 3rd party)...versus dealing with cash, etc. There is a seam all the way around the bumper...so it should match/blend pretty well.

Thx for the advice!

My biggest concern would be the effect on resale value. Is this something that will now show up on a carfax or is that only when there is major damage?
