SRT8 piping
does anyone know of a place online that would sell me the Gibsen SRT8 stainless exhaust without the muffler and resonator. I hate the sound of Gibsen mufflers, and I have a 5.7 with a trailer hitch.... so I am thinking I want more of a duel exhaust that is more traditional being spaced further apart away from the trailer hitch. Talked to a few places and they don't have a clue... or am I going to have to have some pipes bent locally?

Re: SRT8 piping
is 3 inch duel pipes too much for the 5.7?

Re: SRT8 piping
For a stock 5.7, it's a bit much, but not a deal-breaker. Better match for a heads/cam 5.7.

Re: SRT8 piping
seriously considering heads and cams... if I can figure out how to install them myself...

Re: SRT8 piping
You'll lose power with 3 in. duals on a stock/relatively stock 5.7 WK. A friend of mine tried it on his 5.7 Hemi LX and ended up putting restriction (smaller tubing) back in to get the power back. The stock 5.7 Hemi LX comes with 2 1/4 in. tubing. Unless you've got some big time mods. that's probably what you should use. Remember, the big choke point in the WK exhaust system is in the exhaust manifolds and muffler, not so much with the tubing. I run custom tubular headers and a complete 3 in. single system on my Sidewinder cammed Hemi WK. My Hemi LX, modded exactly the same way, still runs 2 1/4 in. duals. 6.1 LX's run 2 1/2 in.
