New ET and MPH record today

I took the NCTS turbo Cherokee to Milan Dragway today in Michigan.

Still looking for the 12 second slip, but I did better the previous results.

Today I set a new best ET at 13.39, and a new MPH record at 104.62.

It is clearly obvious at this point that I am at the limit of what the stock torque management is going to let me get away with. There is still more left on the table, but the more I push it, the more I can see in the data logs where torque management is just pulling it back.

60ft - 2.08
330ft - 5.67
1/8et - 8.6 @ 82.25
1000ft - 11.20 @ 94.14
1/4et - 13.398 @ 103.46

60ft - 2.07
330ft - 5.71
1/8et - 8.6 @ 82.40
1000ft - 11.24 @ did not record on slip
1/4et - 13.40 @ 104.62

It also pulls much harder and cleaner with less torque management if the engine is not up to operating temps, unfortunately at the track it is not possible to get to the line before it heats up.

So I will be looking into how to get rid of some or all of the torque management this next week and try to get on more session in before the tracks up here shut down.

I did run against a new TBSS with some of the available bolt on goodies, and he posted a 13.83 @ 99 mph.

The MPH is there, just can't get past the torque management in the shifts. When it pulls TPS voltage, it also pulls fuel, and the delay through the shift and post shift recovery is seriously hurting the et.

I will post up an image of one of the datalogs and point out the areas, clear as day when it happens.

If I run it on an abandoned road with the engine temps down, it launches way harder, pulls 2 psi of boost more in first gear, and it runs clean through the shifts and AFR is more stable.

Other night I pulled a 1.93 60ft, today, best was 2.02 60ft

Something about the engine temp is setting it off.

Thanks, I am looking to get close to the numbers you posted for your SRT-8, then I will be happy with the stock internals 5.7 setup.

I have run similar numbers on an onboard electronic 1/4 mile timer, but always with the engine temps down, just past the first mark on the temp gauge. May try a 180 stat, but have to check into what codes it may throw.

I don't believe on low temp T-stat as my truck never reach 215 mark since i got my tune !!!! Like they say don't touch what's working  . The funny thing was Friday morning before i hit the track i installed my stock tune for 1 hour or so to reflash it and just by driving around for few minutes i notice my temps reached 215 real fast , switched back to CMR All good again !!

is it engine temp or MAT the culprit?

MAT???

Do you mean Intake Air Temp? Not that as I can cool that down pretty well. All I know is that if the coolant temp is at normal, I see a lot more torque management, not sure why yet.
